Litzy Daniela Luján Villa was born and raised in El Salto, Durango, Mexico. At the age of 16, she immigrated to the United States with her mother and younger sister. They wanted to support her two older sisters who were pursuing education in the medical field in Mexico. Litzy and her family bravely crossed borders in search of better educational opportunities and a brighter future. Moving to a new country, Litzy faced many challenges such as adapting to a new school system, learning English, and adjusting to a different culture. Despite these difficulties, she worked hard to overcome all the obstacles to succeed.
As an undocumented student, Litzy started her U.S educational journey in an ESL program where teachers and her counselor identified her potential, encouraging her to follow her dreams and pursue higher education. She later joined the Puente program at Ohlone Community College, where she received helpful resources and mentorship. Litzy graduated with an associate degree in business administration, earning the highest honors and setting a strong foundation for her future.
Litzy transferred to San Jose State University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in international business with a concentration in marketing. This took hard work and dedication to achieve this major goal. Now, Litzy dreams of pursuing a master’s degree in public administration to advocate for her community, ensuring government agencies and organizations help people and use public funds wisely.
