Melissa earned a Master of Science in Biology and is currently studying Public Health at City College of San Francisco (CCSF). She helps community college students access school services and opportunities.

As a DreamSF Fellow, Melissa is placed at Mujeres Unidas y Activas (MUA). She feels solidarity with the women MUA serves. In this role, she will support MUA's social media and marketing efforts.

Melissa is a woman with many dreams. Her greatest inspiration are her children, who motivate her to fight every day and give the best of herself. She firmly believes that change begins with us, and that is the best legacy that she wants to leave for her children. She will continue to work for her community. Her dream is to make San Francisco a community filled with love and tolerance.

Melissa really likes cars, especially fast ones! She loves to go out and feel the air because it feels freeing.
