Alicia is a student and is originally from Puebla, Mexico. While growing up in the Bay Area as a low-income first generation student, Alicia discovered her passion for community empowerment. Currently, Alicia is working toward her Bachelors of Science in Health Education at San Francisco State University. As a current DACA recipient, Alicia is dedicated and involved in her local communities; tutoring bilingual elementary students, distributing fresh produce to low-income families, as well as conducting outreach for community events.

Presently, Alicia provides support to the dispatch at the Caring Hands Worker Center, language access project, administrative work, logistical and planning for fundraising events at Mujeres Unidas y Activas for her placement within the DreamSF Fellowship. Alicia feels a great responsibility to learn more about her immigrant community in depth through the building of relationships with community members.

In her free time, Alicia likes to make art, dance and hike. Overall, Alicia aspires to influence policies and contribute to a more just living environment for disadvantaged and underrepresented communities.
