Meet the Fellows

Ana Clara Serra

This is some text inside of a div block.

Ana Clara Serra was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. At the age of 15, they immigrated with their family to the United States. Becoming an undocumented immigrant as a teen shaped Ana's view of the world and in turn, motivated them to advocate for themself and other immigrants. Being undocumeted has also pushed Ana Clara to pursue their education, leading them to become the first college student of their family.

As an undocumented immigrant, Ana has experienced first-hand some of the challenges and hardships of not having a legal status, motivating them to continue their education to better serve immigrant communities in need. Currently, they are working  towards finishing their Bachelors Degree in Business with a concentration in Accounting, and a minor in Political Science, at San Francisco State University. Ana aspires to attend law school, hopefully becoming an immigration attorney that provides accessible and equitable legal services.

For the DreamSF Fellowship, Ana has been placed at Legal Services for Children (LSC) to help provide legal services to youth in the Bay Area. They will be assisting LSC's legal team, while also being part of the FreeSF coalition. Ana Clara believes in LSC's mission to provide equitable legal services for youth, while also respecting their autonomy.

In their free time, Ana enjoys hiking, listening to music, and spending time with their loved ones. Trying out new restaurants with their partner is definitely their favorite way of spending their free time.
